*PIRATE RUDOLF (2013 introduction registered in 2012) 40" M SEV (on the DOR side) TET "Rudolf, the peg-legged reindeer" just wouldn't fit on the lable for this 6" red violet with an apricot hoof print eye (impossible to capture correctly with my Nikon) and a yellow to green throat.  Perhaps naming a daylily for deer, the biggest predator of daylilies, they'll show some respect for our gardens?  One can dream.  Even when mashed together with 4,999 other seedlings in its first year of bloom, no visitor passed by this flower without commenting on the eyezone.  Fertile both ways with 2 laterals and 20-28 buds.  Makes average sized fans.  Seedling CTRBCG-1.
